Ninokuni: The Another World

Ghilbi makes its gaming debut!

The Professor Layton games have turned Japanese developer Level-5 into a powerful force in the gaming industry and its latest project is possibly the biggest to date.

Not content with the sterling work done by animation studio Production IG on Layton and its  two sequels, the developer has turned to legendary anime house Studio Ghibli to work on the strangely titled Ninokuni: The Another World (expect a new title for the inevitable european release). The game involves a young teenager who discovers a mysterious book which takes him to a parrellel reality, shortly after the death of his mother.

The book is actually provided as part of a special package with the game. It pages various tips andother useful information, while also listing a series of stylus moves to execute the game’s various different spells. A japanese Harry Potter perhaps? Could be, but we expect something a little deeper than just a movie tie-in, especially after the quality of Level-5’s output so far.

We have heard rumours of this coming out around November of this year, but we know one thing for sure – we will hear more about this later in the year.
